Sally has managed the Oro Valley Book Shoppe Too for 10 years.

What has now become The Friends Book Shoppe and Book Shoppe Too originally started as a cart in a single location, evolving to now be a branch of the Pima County Library system. This non-profit organization has a board, full-time workers, and more than 50 volunteers.

Book Shoppe Too opened in January 2011 to enhance the operations of the Friends Book Shoppe and specializes in literature about the Southwestern U.S., Art and Classic Literature, and Vintage/Collectible editions and have more than 8,000 books to choose from.

Both the Friends Book Shoppe and Book Shoppe Too maintain a large selection of mystery, fiction, romance, and non-fiction material. Each shop has a slightly different collection of other genre, such as health, religion, science fiction, sports, travel, philosophy, foreign language, gardening, and cooking, in both hard back and paperback editions. Book prices are reasonable and often reduced. Semi-annual clearance sales are held in April and October. All books are donated and these donations are accepted at either location.

Book Shoppe Too celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2021 and serves many needs for the Friends. In addition to selling used books and jewelry, the internet sales staff manage and store their extensive inventory there. The pricing of donations for sale in both shops, and the sorting for storage of books between semiannual sales is done there also. Other facilities & capabilities include 2 study rooms, PCs, workshops, visiting artists, a large parking lot extension, and they are currently building an outdoor children’s plaza for completion in September, 2021.

They plan to reopen after the pandemic 6 days per week noon to 4 pm in early July, and are located near La Canada and Lambert at 10355 N La Canada Dr in Oro Valley. More information is available at: https://orovalleyfriends.org/book-shoppe-too/.
