Dove Mountain Rotary Service Projects
Hike to Raise Funds for Community Food Bank:
The Dove Mountain Rotary Club “Ramblers” had a chance to get out, get active, and give back in the 2021 Community Food Bank HungerWalk on September 11th, 2021. The hike taken was in the Dove Mountain area at the Prospect Wash Trail. Through this initiative, the club raised $270 for the Community Food Bank.


Handbags of Hope:
On Nov 12, 2020 DM Rotarians prepared & delivered 22 handbags with basic needs items to Eagles Wings of Grace, a non-profit organization that helps local disadvantaged women after life-altering situations such as addiction, abuse, and incarceration.

Friends of Pima Animal Care Center:
During October - November, 2020 DM Rotarians collaborated with the Tucson Sunrise Rotary Club, by participating in their "Friends of Pima Animal Care Center" project bagging dog & cat food as well as cat litter to help needy pet owners.

Imago Dei Middle School Relationship:
Our club has begun an ongoing relationship with Imago Dei Middle School, a private, tuition-free Grade 5-8 downtown Tucson middle school exclusively serving low-income families.

Peace Pole at a Local Park:
SERVING MEALS TO HOMELESS VETERANS:
In 2019 and again in March, 2020 just before the shutdown, Dove Mountain Rotarians and friends of the club served meals to homeless veterans. The meals were part of an event called "Veterans Stand Down", sponsored by Veterans Serving Veterans. The volunteers found it to be a rewarding experience and were pleased to have this opportunity to serve our veterans.
![]() BEEHIVE SENIOR CARE ADOPTION:
Dove Mountain Rotary has adopted the Bee Hive Senior Care Center. Club members had a Valentine's Day party for the residents. Shortly after, visits to the home were prohibited because of the pandemic, so the club members sent notes and cards to the residents. Honorary Member Brigitte Hentges also made Easter cards for each resident. When the center re-opens to visitors, further service projects are planned.
![]() FOOD BANK BENCHES:
DM club members constructed benches placed at the entrance of the Marana Food Bank, so that patrons would have a place to sit when using public transportation caused them to arrive before the Food Banks daily opening time.
VOLUNTEERING at "Feed My Starving Children":
DM club members & friends of the club volunteered at a local church location to package food for people in developing nations.
SHELTER BOX DONATION:
DM Rotarians donated a ShelterBox to provide a family emergency disaster relief from a natural disaster or conflict. Right now, there are more than 104 Million people around the world that have been displaced by natural disasters and world conflict.
DM Rotarians, Interactors, and Friends of the club have volunteered each year at an El Tour Aid Station in Marana.
DM Rotarians Pack Boxes for Food Bank:
The members of Dove Mountain Rotary shopped for cleaning supplies and personal items, then packed boxes for the Marana Food Bank. The boxes went to senior citizens in the Marana community.
![]() DM Rotarians Volunteering at Habitat for Humanity:A group of Dove Mountain Rotarians and family members donned hard hats and volunteered at Habitat for Humanity. They worked on landscaping, roof trusses, and general construction.
