El Tour de Tucson Ride to End Polio 2022:
DM Rotarians & neighbors rode in the 63 mile route, participated in an Indoor Ride to End Polio, pre-registered riders prior to the event, and raised sponsorships & contributions that totaled more than $1820. With the Gates Foundation 2:1 match, these total contributions exceeded $3640. 
 
 
Community Food Bank HungerWalk 2022:
DM Rotarians walked on Sept 10, 2022 at Tangerine Sky Park and raised $306 for the Community Food Bank.
 
Community Food Bank Emergency Food Distribution:
DM Rotarians distributed food to the needy at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona on July 21, 2022.
 
  
 
Veterans Serving Veterans Meal Serving:
DM Rotarians served meals to homeless veterans on March 16, 2022, in collaboration with Tucson Veterans Serving Veterans.
 
 
Feed My Starving Children Meal Packing:
Club member packed meals for Feed My Starving Children on February 8, 2022.
 
Salvation Army Bell Ringing:
DM Rotarians raised nearly $700 for the Salvation Army from bell ringing and online donations, on December 11, 2021.
 

El Tour de Tucson Ride to End Polio Aid Station Support:
On November 20th, 2021, the DM Rotary Club supported a refreshment & aid station along with the Marana Rotary Club.
 
Highlands of Dove Mountain Kindness Fair Table & Participation:
DM Rotary Club hosted a table, raffle donations, and participated at the Highlands Clubhouse Ballroom on November 12, 2021.
 
DM Rotary Hosts Marana Chamber Breakfast Meeting:
Numerous Club members attended, and the club hosted a Marana Chamber Breakfast meeting on November 3, 2022, to give the club increased visibility among community business leaders.
 
Bag Stuffing for Zone Institute:
On November 6, 2021, club members stuffed bags to support a Zone Institute meeting and enjoyed breakfast together after that hard work.
 
Peace Pole Bench & Landscaping at Tangerine Sky Park:
DM Rotarians and Marana Parks & Recreation installed a bench and landscaping nearby the Peace Pole on November 5, 2021.
 
Hike to Raise Funds for Community Food Bank:
The Dove Mountain Rotary Club “Ramblers” had a chance to get out, get active, and give back in the 2021 Community Food Bank HungerWalk on September 11th, 2021.  The hike taken was in the Dove Mountain area at the Prospect Wash Trail. Through this initiative, the club raised $270 for the Community Food Bank.
 
Roadrunner Elementary School Table Donation & Reading to Students:
DM Rotarians visited Roadrunner Elementary School on August 27, 2021 and donated a table for outdoor eating, to assist the school & students during the pandemic. In addition, club members have read to students on an ongoing basis.
 
Handbags of Hope:
On Nov 12, 2020 DM Rotarians prepared & delivered 22 handbags with basic needs items to Eagles Wings of Grace, a non-profit organization that helps local disadvantaged women after life-altering situations such as addiction, abuse, and incarceration. 
 
Friends of Pima Animal Care Center:
During October - November, 2020 DM Rotarians collaborated with the Tucson Sunrise Rotary Club, by participating in their "Friends of Pima Animal Care Center" project bagging dog & cat food as well as cat litter to help needy pet owners.
 
 
Imago Dei Middle School Relationship:
Our club has begun an ongoing relationship with Imago Dei Middle School, a private, tuition-free Grade 5-8 downtown Tucson middle school exclusively serving low-income families.

THREAD Project:

Dove Mountain Rotarians visited Imago Dei Middle School on Sept 7th, 2020 and presented school officials with a check to cover the cost of materials for sewing 10,000 masks for the THREAD (Together for Hope, Resiliency, Empowerment, And Development) project. The donated funds are from the Dove Mountain Rotary Charitable Fund and a matching grant from District 5500. When the students return to campus, there will be opportunities for club members to mentor students.
 
Peace Pole at a Local Park:
   Our club installed a Peace Pole at Tangerine Sky Park in Marana, Arizona
 “Peace Poles” are internationally recognized symbols that send messages for peace, in our world full of conflict. There are more than 250,000 Peace Poles in every country of the world, dedicated as monuments for peace.
 Languages: English, Spanish, Tohono O'odham Nation language, Mandarin, & Hebrew.
 Tohono O'odham language was selected in reference to the original native inhabitants of the Sonoran Desert area.
 
SERVING MEALS TO HOMELESS VETERANS:
In 2019 and again in March, 2020 just before the shutdown, Dove Mountain Rotarians and friends of the club served meals to homeless veterans. The meals were part of an event called "Veterans Stand Down", sponsored by Veterans Serving Veterans. The volunteers found it to be a rewarding experience and were pleased to have this opportunity to serve our veterans.
 
BEEHIVE SENIOR CARE ADOPTION:
Dove Mountain Rotary has adopted the Bee Hive Senior Care Center. Club members had a Valentine's Day party for the residents. Shortly after, visits to the home were prohibited because of the pandemic, so the club members sent notes and cards to the residents. Honorary Member Brigitte Hentges also made Easter cards for each resident. When the center re-opens to visitors, further service projects are planned.
 
FOOD BANK BENCHES:
DM club members constructed benches placed at the entrance of the Marana Food Bank, so that patrons would have a place to sit when using public transportation caused them to arrive before the Food Banks daily opening time.
 
 
VOLUNTEERING at "Feed My Starving Children":
DM club members & friends of the club volunteered at a local church location to package food for people in developing nations.
 
 
SHELTER BOX DONATION:
DM Rotarians donated a ShelterBox to provide a family emergency disaster relief from a natural disaster or conflict. Right now, there are more than 104 Million people around the world that have been displaced by natural disasters and world conflict.
 
 
 
Dove Mountain Rotarians Help at El Tour Aid Station:
DM Rotarians, Interactors, and Friends of the club have volunteered each year at an El Tour Aid Station in Marana.

 
DM Rotarians Pack Boxes for Food Bank:
The members of Dove Mountain Rotary shopped for cleaning supplies and personal items, then packed boxes for the Marana Food Bank. The boxes went to senior citizens in the Marana community.

DM Rotarians Volunteering at Habitat for Humanity:

A group of Dove Mountain Rotarians and family members donned hard hats and volunteered at Habitat for Humanity. They worked on landscaping, roof trusses, and general construction.
