Sophia Marcinowski: College in a Pandemic
Sophia Marcinowski visited the club to relate some of her experiences as a freshman at the University of Arizona. She received a $1000 scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year and will receive that amount again for the upcoming term. She described her disappointment in having all of her classes online, and she is looking forward to in-person learning. She said she had a wonderful roommate, and they have become best friends. Sophia will be majoring in molecular biology and she hopes to be able to help people with genetic anomalies. Her father died of a genetic disorder, and her mother had breast cancer but survived. She is a top student and earned all As for the second semester.
